Service description
Orderly accounting and tax management is essential to the stability and growth of your company.
At TANMIYA Business Partners we provide tax and accounting advice so that you meet your tax obligations in the UAE and, depending on the case and the jurisdiction, in other Gulf countries.
Keep your finances in order and focus your energy on growing your business.
The UAE stopped being a destination without accounting obligations years ago. Today there is tax registration, Corporate Tax, VAT where applicable, accounting, returns and, in certain cases, audit, with deadlines that carry penalties if they are missed. It remains a very competitive tax environment, but “Dubai has no taxes and there is nothing to do” is no longer true. Each company and each tax situation is analysed case by case.
Operational peace of mind
We fulfil and manage your tax and accounting obligations in the UAE and other Gulf countries so that you can spend your time growing the business, not on bureaucracy.
What does our service include?

Tax planning and optimisation
We review the structure before the financial year starts, not when it is already time to file. It is the only phase in which something can still be corrected at no cost.
Tax returns and tax compliance
Tax registration, periodic filings and filing calendar.
General accounting and financial statements
Books kept up to date under the UAE accounting framework, and closes that stand up to review by both the authority and the bank.
Audit and financial control
Preparation of supporting documentation, and support if a review takes place. An orderly file speaks for itself.
Advice on cost management and profitability
Figures are for making decisions, not just for filing. We translate the closing figures into where you are making money and where you are losing it.
Liaison with the FTA and information requests
Handling of information requests, inspections and clarifications from the Federal Tax Authority, with the supporting documentation prepared in advance.
Compare your current accounting costs with the UAE
Tell us your transaction volume and what you currently pay your accountant, and we will show you the annual package that applies to you in the UAE.
How much tax would you pay in Spain and in the UAE?
Compare your tax position with the UAEEverything this service covers

Frequently asked questions
Does my company have to pay Corporate Tax?
Corporate Tax applies at 9% on profits above AED 375,000, with 0% below that threshold. Being below it does not exempt you from registering or filing: they are two separate obligations.
Do I have to register for VAT?
It depends on your turnover and the type of activity, and there are thresholds for mandatory and voluntary registration. We review it at incorporation so that you are not late.
I have been operating for two years without keeping accounts. Can it be fixed?
Almost always, and the sooner it is addressed, the cheaper it is. The outstanding financial years are reconstructed, the records are regularised and the calendar is put in order from there.
Can you handle the accounting if the company was set up by someone else?
Yes. The company does not need to have been set up with us. We start with a review of the actual state of compliance, which is usually different from what the client believed it to be.
Does this replace my adviser in Spain?
No. We handle the UAE side. If you keep ties or tax residency in Spain, your adviser there continues to handle that side, and the sensible thing is for the two to talk to each other.
When can the 0% Corporate Tax rate apply?
The 0% band covers the first AED 375,000 of profit; above that, 9% applies. There are also specific regimes, such as Small Business Relief and the Qualifying Free Zone Person regime, each with its own requirements that must be met and maintained. Being below the threshold does not exempt you from registering or filing.
Do I need to keep accounts even if my turnover is low?
Yes. The obligation to keep accounts and retain records does not depend on how much you invoice, and it applies regardless of whether you end up paying 0% Corporate Tax. It is the most expensive mistake we see: properly incorporated companies that did not keep accounts in their first financial year.
What happens if I do not file a return on time?
There are penalties for late filing and for failure to register, and they accumulate. The sooner an overdue situation is addressed, the cheaper it is to regularise.
Do you also handle prior years and FTA information requests?
Yes. The outstanding financial years are reconstructed, the records are regularised and the calendar is put in order from there. And if there is already an open information request, we prepare the supporting documentation and handle communication with the Federal Tax Authority.
Do you also provide the service in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries?
Depending on the case and the jurisdiction, yes. Each Gulf country has its own accounting and tax rules, so the scope is defined before we start and is not taken for granted.
When does a company have to register for Corporate Tax?
Juridical persons subject to the Corporate Tax regime must register within the deadlines set by the FTA. Free Zone Persons must also register, even if they expect to benefit from the 0% rate on Qualifying Income. The specific deadline depends on the date and form of incorporation, so we review it individually.
Do I have to file annual accounts?
A company must keep adequate accounting records and, for Corporate Tax purposes, have sufficient financial information to determine its taxable income. Whether financial statements must be submitted or filed with a specific authority depends on the jurisdiction, the type of entity and the applicable requirements.
Do I need an audit?
It depends. Some free zones, licences, sectors, banks or structures require audited financial statements; in other cases it is not mandatory. Before commissioning an audit, we confirm the requirement with the jurisdiction and how the statements will be used.
Are there penalties? How much are they?
Yes, there are penalties for tax non-compliance, but the amount depends on the type of violation: late registration, late filing, late payment, errors, failure to keep records, etc. In addition, the UAE penalty regime was amended with effect from April 2026. That is why I would not publish a single figure; we review the specific violation against the FTA penalty table currently in force.
Do you work with free zone and mainland companies?
Yes. We handle accounting and compliance for free zone and mainland companies. What matters is reviewing their activity, VAT obligations, Corporate Tax and the specific requirements of the jurisdiction.
What documents do you need to get started?
Usually the trade licence and corporate documents, bank statements, issued and received invoices, contracts, expenses, payroll if any, tax registrations and any previous accounting. If we are taking over from another provider, we also ask for the trial balance, ledgers and the returns already filed.

I know Jacobo since I arrived in Dubai in 2015, when I was posted as commercial counsellor of the commercial office of the Embassy of Spain in Dubai. Jacobo had been working there as international trade advisor way before me, in 2008. He has been in Dubai since then and has worked in different sectors and companies. As a result of that, he has a broad knowledge of the country, its sectors and on how to do business here in the UAE.
