Service description
Our Representation Office makes it possible to have a presence in the market without taking on the full structure and costs of your own local setup from day one.
Depending on the project, support can range from an address and a workspace to a qualified person who represents your company, attends meetings, follows up with clients and partners and develops business opportunities on the ground.
Expand your business with an effective, strategic local presence.
This is the service we recommend when the market has not yet been validated. Setting up a subsidiary means a trade licence, an office, visas and accounting from the first month, whether or not there is any income. Representation gives you a real presence with a fraction of that structure: someone who answers the phone here, attends the meeting and does the follow-up. If the market responds, you incorporate later, with data on the table.
Your local team
A real commercial presence in the market without setting up your own structure: we look after your interests as if we were your local office.
What does our service include?

Commercial and corporate representation in key markets
Your company has a point of contact with an address and a telephone number in the region, without having to incorporate in order to start operating.
Managing relationships with clients, partners and institutions
In the Gulf, relationships are maintained in person and on an ongoing basis. That follow-up between one order and the next is precisely what cannot be done from Spain.
Developing and executing positioning strategies
How your brand is presented, to whom and with what argument, in a market where nobody is likely to know you yet.
Support with negotiating and closing commercial agreements
Support at the negotiating table, a reading of the local context and a review of anything you sign before you sign it.
Operational and administrative support adapted to your needs
From receiving documents to coordinating suppliers or handling an issue. The scope is defined with you, not from a catalogue.
Regular activity reporting
What has been done, with whom and where each conversation stands. Without reporting, this is a promise; with reporting, it is a service.

Frequently asked questions
How is it different from opening a subsidiary?
In cost and in commitment. A subsidiary requires a trade licence, an office, visas and accounting from the first month. Representation gives you a presence in the market without that structure, and lets you decide on the basis of data whether it is worth incorporating.
Can you sign contracts on our behalf?
The scope of the representation is defined in writing before we start, and signing authority is one of the points agreed at that stage. The usual arrangement is that we attend the meetings, follow up and support the negotiation, while the company retains signing authority.
Can we use your office as a base?
Yes, where the project makes it viable. Depending on the case, we can offer workspace, a meeting room, a local address and administrative support, so that the company has a real base without setting up its own structure.
Is it an alternative to opening your own office?
It is the step that comes first. Representation lets you work the market with a real presence while you test whether it is worth incorporating. If the market responds, the structure is set up later, with data on the table; many clients follow exactly that path.
Is it compatible with already having a distributor in the region?
Yes, and it is a frequent assignment. In those cases, representation usually serves to supervise the distributor, open client accounts the distributor does not cover or prepare entry into a neighbouring emirate or country.
How long is the commitment?
It is structured in periods, with a review at the end of each one, and adapted to the level you need: one-off representation, project-based support, a monthly presence or ongoing support during the market entry phase.
What does it mean to represent a company in the UAE?
It means acting as a local point of support within an agreed scope: commercial presence, meetings, follow-up, relationships, coordination and business development.
Can you represent our company commercially?
Yes. We can act as a local extension of the sales team, with defined objectives, roles and reporting.
Can you follow up with clients?
Yes. Follow-up is a central part of the service and may include calls, meetings, documents and coordination of next steps.
Can you help with negotiations?
Yes, especially in the commercial phase. For specialised legal or contractual matters, we coordinate with lawyers where applicable.
Can you assign a person to business development?
Yes. Depending on the sector, workload and scope, we can structure a dedicated or shared resource.
Can the representative meet clients?
Yes. They can attend alone or together with the client, depending on the project and the level of representation agreed.
Can you represent our company before public bodies?
We can support institutional meetings and dealings within the permitted scope. Procedures that require specific formal representation are reviewed case by case.
Do you also work in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. We can support representation and commercial development projects in Saudi Arabia through our team and local network.
Can you represent a company in several Gulf countries?
Yes, but we usually recommend setting priorities by market and adapting the model to each country.
Which sectors do you cover?
We work across multiple B2B sectors and institutional projects. Before accepting a representation, we review whether we have sufficient capacity, contacts and knowledge to add real value.

I know Jacobo since I arrived in Dubai in 2015, when I was posted as commercial counsellor of the commercial office of the Embassy of Spain in Dubai. Jacobo had been working there as international trade advisor way before me, in 2008. He has been in Dubai since then and has worked in different sectors and companies. As a result of that, he has a broad knowledge of the country, its sectors and on how to do business here in the UAE.
